DID YOU MONOPOLIZE AS A CHILD?

Just asking…

What was the prevailing board game while you were growing up?

The one I  mostly played was Monopoly…have had several board sets over the years, including the Hawaiian edition.

If you played Monopoly, you needed family and friends to make the competish fun.

What was your favorite token, or charm, or kini, as locals called ‘em. I liked the thimble and the top hat, for no particular reason.

What’s your take on your fave game board?

  1. What a fun trip back to childhood! My fave family game was Monopoly and my favorite pieces were the shoe to stomp out of jail and the iron to singe my brothers game pieces lol My favorite board game to play with my besties was Mystery Date . We’d giggle and return to play 2x week after school. Thanks for the throw back!!

    1. Old board games haven’t exactly returned, but in many closets or attics, stuff like Monopoly, Mystery, even games like Battleship must be lurking and awaiting a good dust-off. Thanks for your comment.

  2. Never played Go, or learned how to…but appreciated the low-tech, basic games of the past. Batteries not required, just wit, patience and camaraderie. Loved Chinese checkers, plus a few card games. Which brings up a thought: didn’t you hate it, if you played Old Maid, and became the “winner” with that card?
